With a portfolio of clients primarily based in the Midlands manufacturing issues have been and remain today a significant part of the work that Bloomer Heaven advise on. Additionally membership of MHA’s manufacturing sub group has brought access to information from across the UK and so enhanced our considerable experience in this sector.

With the manufacturing sector in general in a deeply uncertain period the stability, experience and advice that such clients gain from their professional advisor is crucial. Firstly we provide accountancy (management accounts and year end), audit (where appropriate) and taxation advice to manufacturing companies but having worked with clients in the manufacturing sector for many years Bloomer Heaven are well place to offer such advice on specific matters including:

• Business structure
• Managing cash flow within the business
• Bank and financier negotiations

Two recent tax initiatives looking at research and development expenditure and capital allowances have also been developed aimed at manufacturing clients.

With increasing concern about the euro debt crisis and the UK’s ongoing struggle to emerge from recession, the manufacturing sector is seen by many as key to economic recovery. Furthermore, George Osborne has already highlighted the need to invest in the sector in the recent Autumn Statement.

Bloomer Heaven, a member of the national association MHA, is conducting analysis into the manufacturing sector, including a brief online survey and we would welcome your views.

The survey will be going out to over 1000 manufacturers across the UK and the data will be used to inform comment, summarise trends and identify opportunities for manufacturers. It will take less than 10 minutes to complete the survey and all respondents who complete their details will receive a pdf copy of the final report. One lucky respondent will also win an iPad2.
